COACH EDUCATION
Our Coaching/Mentoring provision offers young people and adults with disabilities, the opportunity to play, volunteer or coach with the Alvechurch FC Ability Counts section. The aim of the program is to provide individuals with opportunities for personal growth and development, learning new skills, such as teamwork, communication, leadership, and decision-making, as well as improving their technical ability in football.
Opportunities will be presented to individuals to further take their knowledge and acquire qualifications that would reinforce their standing and make them more employable within the sector. We are currently working on a Level 3 Diploma in British Sign Language. Five coaches have gone on to get their FA Level 1 coaching badges and start work with the Foundation within the community.

Set Up
Working with potential coaches from our Ability Counts Program, we look at training these guys up to achieve their FA Playmaker and Introduction to Coaching Football badges, which in turn gets their Safeguarding and First Aid qualifications. This is done through classroom sessions, as well as practical sessions whereby trainee coaches design and delivery sessions to their peers, or to players from the Mentoring Program, all led and overseen by UEFA B Licenced Coach and Teacher Qualified Kev Redmond.
When?
Every Saturday 9.30-11.30am
